Ebola: US finally agrees to give Liberia experimental drug, ZMapp
A statement published on Mrs Sirleaf's website on Monday said the US had approved a request from Liberia to ship the medicine after a direct appeal to US President Barack Obama on Friday.
But spokesperson for the US Health and Human Services (HHS) Department said US authorities had simply assisted in connecting the Liberian government with the drug's manufacturer, insisting that the drug company had worked directly with the Liberian government.
Meanwhile the deaths from Ebola has passed the 1,000 mark. Late yesterday, the World Health Organization said 1,013 people have now died from Ebola.

Pics: NNPC shuts down clinic in Lagos over suspected patient with Ebola virus
The patient was said to have first been admitted at First Consultant Medical Centre around the same time Liberian Patrick Sawyer was being treated at the clinic. Men suited in white safety clothing and an ambulance were seen at the hospital around one 1pm today.
Though there's no definite confirmation that the patient is infected with Ebola, the Management of NNPC Clinic this evening announced the indefinite shutdown of the clinic.
The management said its a pre-emptive step and also said they have reported the issue to the Federal Ministry of Health as well as officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Health. More pics after the cut

Interestingly, the 250 private jet owners in Nigeria splash an average of N34.9 billion annually to maintain their expensive toys. Police arrest Boko Haram member who says he's the 'Chief Butcher' of Balmo Forest
Following the massive onslaught by Security Forces on the activities of the insurgent group, Boko Haram, at the Balmo Forest Bauchi State, Police detectives attached to Bauchi State Police Command on Saturday, 12/7/2014 about 2pm have arrested one Mohammed Zakari, a male of 30 years old and senior member of the Boko Haram terrorists’ organization along Darazo-Basrika Road while fleeing from the intensive counter insurgency operations going on around the Balmo Forest. The suspect, who hails from Kaigamari Village, Daptchari in Darazo Local Government Area, Bauchi State is the self-styled “chief butcher” of the insurgent group at the Balmo Forest Camp and is linked with the recent slaughter of seven (7) people, including women and children.
